Artificial intelligence
The soft spot I’ve stopped pretending is subtle. It started with automating my own work, and I still like to try the products myself.
I get paid to be curious about new technology. At BOM, I look at young companies in deep tech, AI and software, usually in their first rounds of funding.
What I like to dig into
01
The soft spot I’ve stopped pretending is subtle. It started with automating my own work, and I still like to try the products myself.
02
Science that leaves the lab and goes looking for its first customers. I like to understand the science first, and then who will buy it.
03
Products that turn into the way a customer works. I like hearing from the people who use them every day.
04
The first chapters. A first product, first customers and a pitch deck that gets a little better every week.
About
I’m an investment analyst in the Key Technologies team at BOM, the Brabant Development Agency. That means plenty of pitch decks, plenty of conversations with founders and a happy habit of asking one more question.
Before that I spent five years at Reshift Digital. I started out writing for TechAcademy and Zoom.nl, moved into campaigns and content, and ended up as AI specialist. I automated a fair bit of my own work, then showed my colleagues how to do the same.
I studied Business Administration at VU Amsterdam. Then I won a business game that came with a scholarship to Nyenrode, so that decision made itself. I graduated there cum laude, as valedictorian.
